Dennis Lamar Trawick

Mr. Dennis Lamar Trawick, age 74, of Pike County, passed away October 4, 2024, at Harborview Nursing Home in Thomaston.  Dennis was born in Thomaston, son of the late Robert Alton Trawick and Etta Mae Peavy Trawick.  For most of his life, Dennis was a mechanic and worked for the Pike County Road Department for several years. He also owned and operated his own repair shop.  He was a long-time member of Meansville Baptist Church.

Dennis was a loyal friend and passionate fisherman. He was truly a good Samaritan whether he was lending a helping hand to a neighbor or sharing vegetables from his garden.

He had a knack for making everyone laugh and was well known for his ability to fix just about anything - likely with a collection of leftover parts when the job was complete. His legacy for love of family and never ending one liners will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Trawick and former wife, Vickie Millican Trawick.

He is survived by his children: James Trawick (Jessica), Belinda Trawick, and Kathy Herrick (Clint); grandchildren:  Arianna, Gage, Haley, Alexis and Brandon; sister: Edna Clark (Charles); brother: Emory Trawick (Susan); and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Harborview Nursing Center Thomaston and The Lighthouse Community Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Dennis.

A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 4 p.m., in Fincher Memorial Cemetery, 11001 GA Hwy. 109, Meansville. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, from 3:30 to 4 p.m., at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fincher Memorial Cemetery, P.O. Box 396, Meansville, GA 30256 or to Meansville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 239, Meansville, GA 30256, in memory of Dennis. MOODY-DANIEL FUNERAL HOME
