Mrs. Doris Jean Boyt Hamilton, age 91, of Barnesville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 2, 2024. Doris was born September 30, 1933, in Culloden, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Hamilton on May 31, 2013, five brothers, Thomas, Jerry, Elmo, Douglas and Dallas Boyt, and one sister, Louise Boyt Tidwell.
Doris was an active member of Open Arms Baptist Church in Zebulon where she played the piano. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, who was known to everyone as Grannie.
She is survived by her son: David Hamilton (Bobbie) of Griffin; daughter: Sandra H. Clark of Milner; grandchildren: Jennifer Zeager (Bruce) of Barnesville, Sherry Harper (Clint) of Zebulon, Amy Wacha of Loris, SC, Craig Clark (Tanya) of Zebulon, Angie Harris (Erik) of Hampton, and Nicholaus Clark (Stephanie) of Zebulon; great-grandchildren: Autumn Clark Carper (Martin), Raymond Wacha (Maggie), Erik Harris, J.D. Dyal, Caroline Wacha, Tyre Clark, Callista Clark, Landon Clark, Kelly Dyal, Alayna Clark, Drake Harris, McKinleah Zeager, and Joseph Zeager; great-great-granddaughter: Melody Dove Carper; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Dr. Don Yarbrough and Rev. Terry Ison officiating. Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
