Mr. John Thomas VanHouten, age 47, of Lennox, died Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Mr. VanHouten was born in Thomaston, on October 20, 1977, a son of Ronald Wayne VanHouten and Glenda Beverly VanHouten. He was a 1996 graduate of Upson-Lee High School and later attended Kennesaw State University. He loved all sports, but especially baseball. He played for many years from tee ball to high school then church softball as an adult. He was employed by Chaparral Boats where he was involved in the manufacturing of luxury boats and yachts. As a talented guitarist and vocalist, he participated in several different praise and worship teams at various churches. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and he will be remembered as a trivia buff. Mr. VanHouten was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Mr. VanHouten is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Glenda VanHouten, his sister, Lisa VanHouten Caldwell, his aunt Debbie Brooks, all of Thomaston, and his nieces and nephews, Erin Caldwell, Ethan Caldwell, Emily Caldwell, and Ean Caldwell.
Mr. Vanhouten was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Ashley VanHouten.
