Mr. Michael “Mike” Eugene Vickers, age 52, of Locust Grove, passed away January 10, 2025. Mike grew up in the Riverdale and Jonesboro area, son of the late Larry and Debbie Vickers. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1990, where he was very popular and excelled in sports, especially baseball and football, and was offered college scholarships in both. He worked for General Pipeline and the Henry County Water Authority. Mike was a kind man who would always take up for others when he saw them being mistreated. He enjoyed coaching recreation sports in Riverdale and Locust Grove and surrounding counties. He was thoughtful, generous, funny and a joy to be around and had many friends throughout his life. Mike also enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Later in life, he liked to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his Mamaw.
He is survived by his sons: Nick Fincher (Lindsay), Jesse Terre “J.T.” Vickers (Alicia) and Kole Vickers (Kaitlynn); grandchildren: Addisyn, Londyn, Josi, Cooper, and two more grandchildren expected this year, Micah and Ivy Grace.
Mike is also survived by the mother of his children: Kerri Vickers and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 1:30 to 2 p.m., at the funeral home. A celebration of life service for Mike will follow at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with his brother-in-law Brian Mizell officiating.
