Rodrick Kempton "Roddy" Harris, age 63, of Atlanta, GA, died Wednesday, December 4, at Emory University Hospital Midtown.
Memorial services for Roddy will be held Sunday, December 8, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Kandler officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 PM until the service hour.
Roddy was born in Thomaston on September 10, 1961, to Catherine Woodson Harris and the late Robert Leslie Harris. He was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. He attended Gordon Junior College and later graduated from Mercer University. He was the owner of Roddy Harris Interiors in Atlanta and was a widely respected interior designer whose work was featured in many publications, including Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles and in Veranda Magazine. His work and clients spanned the globe. Roddy was known for his keen sense of humor, sharp wit, impish grin, love of fun, and his ability to keep people laughing. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Atlanta.
Roddy is survived by his partner, Jesse Ogden of Atlanta; his mother, Catherine Woodson Harris of Fayetteville; a sister, Leslie Meyer of Fayetteville; two nieces: Breanna (Andy) Neubauer of Germany and Amber Meyer (Ian Maxson) of Fayetteville, and a great nephew, Luca Leslie Neubauer of Germany. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
