Mrs. Sandra Ellington Fenley, age 72. of Thomaston, died Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Upson Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Fenley will be held on Sunday, November 17, at 2:00 PM, in South View Cemetery with Rev. Chet Yates officiating. The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Saturday evening, November 16, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
Mrs. Fenley was born in Thomaston on December 3, 1951, to the late Chester Parker Ellington and the late Rhunette Hayes Ellington. She was a graduate of R. E. Lee and Upson Technical College. She had been employed as an LPN for Dr. Lanier Allen, Dr. J. M. Kellum, and Dr. Keith Huckaby on his original office staff, and had also been employed at Silvertown Pharmacy with Chester Young. She loved singing gospel music and watching westerns, and she was talented with painting, wreath making, and drawing. Mrs. Fenley was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fenley was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Dwight Fenley, and two brothers-in-law, James Ellington and Tommy Harp. She is survived by her daughter, Sherri (David) Wear of Maryville, TN; one grandson, Jackson Wear of Maryville, TN; two sisters: Eloise Ellington of Yatesville, GA, and Connie Harp of Woodland, GA; a brother-in-law, Lonnie Fenley of Thomaston; a special cousin, Dale Flynn of Thomaston; several other cousins, nieces, and nephews, and her fur baby, Gracie.
