Thomaston, GA, December 2, 2024 – Upson Regional Medical Center has been named among the top hospitals in Georgia by Georgia Trend Magazine.
URMC ranked sixth out of twenty-five hospitals named in the list of top
medium-sized Georgia hospitals.
Annually, Georgia Trend assesses Georgia hospitals that participated in
the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Value-
Based Purchasing program. The hospitals are ranked by their total
performance score that is derived from four domains: clinical outcomes,
person and community engagement, safety and efficiency, and cost
reduction.
The Georgia hospitals were grouped by similar size and mission to include
Teaching Hospitals, whose primary mission is teaching, regardless of size,
and that are certified by the Association of American Medical Colleges
Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems; Large Hospitals (250+
patient beds); Medium Hospitals (100 to 249 beds); and Small Hospitals
(less than 100 beds).
The rankings released by Georgia Trend Magazine are based on the
American Hospital Directory and CMS data released July 31, 2024.
