Woman Found Shot at Thomaston Apartment

On Saturday, December 7, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., officers with the Thomaston Police Department Uniformed Patrol Division (UPD) were dispatched to Magnolia Gardens apartments formerly West Valley Apartment located at 320 Veterans Drive in reference to a female gunshot victim. Upon arrival officers located the victim, Ashely Langford, age 28, with a gunshot wound to her leg. Langford’s boyfriend, Monterious Hurley, age 35, was also at the residence. Originally both parties stated that the shooting was an accident but had different stories on how the shooting had occurred. The Thomaston Police Department Criminal Investigation Division was notified and responded to the scene. During the course of the investigation, a search was conducted of the apartment where a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol was located along with other evidence. It was determined through physical evidence and witness testimony that a domestic situation had unfolded in the apartment which led to Hurley shooting Langford. Langford was life-flighted to Navicent Hospital in Macon where she was treated for her injuries. Hurley was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Battery, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of A crime. The case remains active and further charges are pending.
