Woman hospitalized after tree causes roof collapse at Spalding County home

A woman was hospitalized after a tree collapsed on a home in Spalding County, according to city officials.


City officials said first responders responded to a home on the 400 block of Hammond Drive in Griffin just after 11 p.m. Thursday. A tree had reportedly fallen into the home.


First responders found that the tree had caused the home’s roof to collapse. A woman was rescued from the home and taken to the hospital, according to the city. She is expected to be okay.
